Sydney Aboriginal History Tours

  Bus Hire Sydney

Come on an adventure into the past with Sydney Charter Bus Australia. A Sydney Aboriginal history tour is a fantastic way learn about the traditions, language and culture of the indigenous peoples of this ancient land. See the ancient ceremonial sites where boys became men, take a bushwalk learning about the native flora and fauna, see shell middens of rock oysters consumed over thousands of years, learn the meaning of local Aboriginal words and much more.

Due to restrictive parking, road access and conservation,
our Aboriginal tours are only conducted in groups of 20 or less.

      Facts:

Did you know that the Aboriginals had no 'S' in their vocabulary. The first settlers would teach them words like 'salt' which was pronounced 'talt' by the Aboriginals.

There is a general misconception that the word 'kangaroo' meant "I don't know." The reason for this was that when Captain Cook was making repairs to his ship in what is now Queensland, he observed for the first time an animal that jumped on its hind legs. The local Aboriginals of the area called this animal a kangaroo. When the First Fleet arrived in Sydney Cove they asked the local Aboriginals about the 'kangaroo' which prompted the reaction of "I don't know."
